Transfer Rules
1. Transfers
WARNING
Failure to meet any of the following requirements will result in the deal being voided, and could result in a club being fined.
1.0 Player Transfers
A list of transfers will be published each Friday/Saturday.
Teams can transfer players between each other in order to improve themselves as best possible. A transfer can be swapping players, or straight cash purchases of players or a mixture of both.
1.0.1 Only TWO teams can be involved in a transfer.
Multiple team deals involving 3 or more teams are not allowed.
1.1 Confirming a Transfer
When a deal is agreed, it must be confirmed by BOTH managers by emailing the Transfer Office. The email must have a subject consisting of the words SNIFL Transfer and the name of the two clubs involved and NOTHING ELSE.
Managers must fill in the Transfer Sheet and cut and paste it into the email message.
Once a transfer has been confirmed by both managers, it cannot be cancelled.
When both managers have carried out this procedure, the managers involved will be informed when your player's) are available or not as the case may be. This is done via the list of transfers published each Friday. If your deal does not appear, and the Transfer Co_ordinator has not contacted you, then it is suggested you contact them to enquire the reason the deal did not proceed. You must include your name and team name in any correspondence.
Tip: Only one manager needs to fill in the Transfer Sheet. This manager can send it to the other manager when they send it to the Transfer Office. The other manager can then send the samecopy to the transfer office.
1.2 New Managers
New managers must go through a 24 hour waiting period before they may be approached by other managers in regards to transfers. Any managers taking advantage of new managers will face HEAVY PENALTIES!
1.3 Weekly Transfer Deadline
The Transfer deadline for each week will be 5:00pm GMT every Friday.
1.4 Season Transfer Deadline
After the 12th round league fixture of each season, no more transfer activity will be allowed. The transfer market will be closed until the final competition has been played for the season. After that date, a new transfer season begins, however, restrictions may be put in place to ebb the flow of transfers.
1.5 General Rules
1.5.1
All negotiations take place between the managers. It is good practice not to advertise your negotiations on the mailing list for other managers may be able to beat you to the deal.
1.5.2
All players transferred are not eligible for their new club until the Monday following the Friday posting of the confirmed deals.
1.5.3
You must wait until a player joins your team before transferring him. This includes players returning from a loan.
1.5.4
All exchanges of cash and players must occur at the point of the deal being processed and cannot be done in instalments, or based on future events.
2. Player Loans
2.0 Loan Rules
Teams can loan players to other teams and bring players in on loans. This gives the opportunities to get players playing games rather than sitting on the bench all the time, and also is an opportunity to get some good players at little or no cost.
2.1 Number of Loans
No team is allowed to have more than 3 players in or 3 players out at any one time. See here.
2.1.1
An emergency free transfer signing of a single goalkeeper will be accepted only in the situation where a team does not have available a recognised goalkeeper (that is a player whose main skill is in Stopping). This will be processed after the weekend games in the same way as other transfers are.
The transfer will be allowed to teams whether they have reached their maximum loan deals or not, and whether the transfer window is open or not.
2.2 Divisions
You cannot be involved in a loan deal with a team from the same division.
2.3 Confirmation
Loans must be negotiated by the managers, and both managers must email the details of the loan to the Transfer Office for it to be confirmed. The subject of the email must consist of the words "SNIFL Loan" and the name of the two clubs involved and NOTHING ELSE.
2.4 Transfer+Loan
If you make a loan or if a loan is a part of a transfer deal, the email you send must have a subject consisting of the words SNIFL Transfer/Loan and the name of the two clubs involved and NOTHING ELSE. You must also make sure you include a Transfer Sheet.

3. Free Transfers/Retirements
3.1 Free Transferring a Player from your Squad
You can Free Transfer a player from your squad at no cost. The player will go onto the Free Transfer list which is available on the website. To Free Transfer a player, you must send an email to the Transfer Office, and use the Transfer Sheet. In the subject line of the email you must write the words "Free Transfer Release" and the name of YOUR club and NOTHING ELSE.

To sign a Free Transfer player, you must send an email to the Transfer Office, and use the Transfer Sheet. 3.3 Retirements
Once a player reaches the ripe old age of 35 he will retire from the game automatically for no compensation, unless special exemption is sought. The exemption costs a club 500k SNIFLers per season per player (cost of the special trainer required to keep the player fit), payable immediately, and will also reduce the players main skill level by 2 and 1 in all other areas (minimum skill level for an area is 1). This means a player can play on until the end of the season where he is shown as being 34 on the squad page. At the end of that season, he will retire normally unless you pay the fees. If you have extended the player past 35, he will automatically retire at 40.
4. Auctions/Draws
4.0 Players on Auction/Draw
On a regular basis during the season, a list of 5 players will be presented to the managers via the mailing list.
4.1 Auctions
4 of the 5 players are available through the Auction whereby the team that bids the highest amount for the player shall win. Players on Auction shall have a minimum price and all bids must be above this.
4.2 Draws
The remaining player shall be made available via the draw. Any team can enter. The player will have a purchase price. The Auction/Draw Co-ordinator shall at random choose a winner from the teams who chose to enter the draw.
4.3 NOTE
You can only bid for one player each week in the auction, and you can only bid for that player once. However you can still enter the draw if you bid on the auction. Bids, and draw entries are to be sent to the Auction/Draw Co-ordinator by a pre-set deadline. Further details will be emailed out via the waiting list when the Auction/Draws occur.
5. Player Draft
5.0 Seasonal Player Draft
At the beginning of each season, a player draft is held.
5.1 Drafts
A single draft takes place.
5.2 Draft Position
Teams draft based on where they finished the season in reverse order. So, the team that finishes last will have the first draft pick, and the team finishing first will have the last draft pick. Each division has it's own draft with 10 teams participating in each. Teams who had automatic relegation will draft second to last, and teams that were relegated via the play-offs will be drafting last. Teams promoted automatically will be drafting second, and teams promoted via the play-offs will have the first pick.
5.3 Draft Transfers
Teams can trade draft picks. A properly processed and confirmer transfer email must be sent to the transfer office to enable a draft pick to be traded.
5.4 How Players Are Made Available
Players are chosen from the Youth League. Youth League players have their skills obscured, so that all you are able to view are their performance stats.
5.5 Submitting Draft Selections
A manager must submit their preferences for players by the given deadline. The way in which they submit their preferences is based on where they are drafting. Teams with the number 1 picks, only need submit one preference for each draft. Teams selecting 2nd must submit a list of 2 preferences (in order) in case the 1st preference is already taken. This continues down to the team selecting 10th who must submit 10 preferences.
5.6 Passing on Draft Picks
Teams can opt to pass on the entire draft, or alternatively they may only wish to submit a few preferences and if none are available when it is their turn for selection they may wish to pass.
